Fire-Hymn

        The poem ‘Fire-Hymn’ has been composed by Keki N. Daruwala. In this poem he tells about a burning ghat.

       “आग पर गीत” को केकी एन. डारूवाला के द्वारा संकलित किया गया है। इस कविता में वह एक जलता हुआ घाट के बारे में बताया है।

       Burning ghat is a place where dead bodies are burnt. While moving on the bank of the river, the poet saw cruel redness of the flames. The sky looked like a red ball.

      जलता हुआ घाट एक जगह होता है। जहाँ मृत शरीर को जलाया जाता है। जब कवि नदी के किनारे से जा रहे थे, तब उसने आग के लपटों का निर्दयीपन लालिमा को देखा। आकाश लाल गेंद की तरह प्रतीत हो रहा था।

        The sky was full of smoke that came from the fire. The smoke swallowed everything.

आकाश आग से पूरी तरह से धुँआ से भर गया था। धुँआ हर चीझ को निगल रहा था।

        The poet will never forgot this fire. He admits that he had never such fire since his birth. He feels that he might have committed some mistake.

        कवि उस आग को कभी नहीं भूले हैं। वह स्‍वीकार करते हैं कि जन्‍म से उस तरह के आग को कभी नहीं देखा है। वह महसुस करते हैं कि उसने भी कुछ गलती कर दिया है।

         He delivered his first child to the flame because the tower of silence is far from his house. He is sorry for that. He begs pardon for that.  He admits the fact that fire can destroy anything.

         वह अपने पहले बच्‍चे को आग के हवाले कर दिया था क्‍योंकि टावर पर साइलेंस (टावर पर साइलेंस एक ऐसा स्‍थान होता है जहाँ पारसी लोग अपने मरे हुए शरीर को ले जाकर रख देते हैं। फिर उस मरे हुए शरीर को गिध्‍द और दूसरे पक्षी खा जाते हैं।) उनके घर से काफी दूर था। वह उसके लिए मा‍फी माँगते हैं। वह इस तथ्‍य को स्‍वीकार करते हैं कि आग हर चीज को बर्बाद कर स‍कती है।
